2.5.4.1. Check of thickness of frictional overlays of brake shoes

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Note paint the provision of wheels in relation to their naves. Thanks to it the balanced wheel can be established in a former position again. Weaken wheel bolts at the car standing on a basic surface. Prepodnimite the car also remove wheels.
2. Check thickness of brake disks.
3. Measure thickness of frictional overlays of brake shoes (without back plate) by means of a caliper. The limit of wear of frictional overlays of disk brakes on the forward and back bridge is reached in case the frictional slip without back plate has thickness only 2 mm. In this case always change all four frictional overlays of one bridge.

Prevention

According to the simple rule, at forward disk brakes of 1 mm of a frictional brake slip corresponds to a run at least in 1000 km. This rule is valid even at operation of the car under adverse conditions. In a normal case frictional slips maintain much more. At a thickness of frictional overlays of disk brakes in 5,0 mm (without back plate) residual suitability of frictional overlays of brake shoes, therefore, still makes at least 3000 km of a run.

4. Spread wheels so that the marks put when dismantling coincided. Previously slightly grease with plastic lubricant for rolling bearings the aligning rim nest on a wheel nave. Screw wheels. Lower the car and hardly crosswise tighten wheel bolts with m 110 N.' moment.
