7.5.2. Self-diagnostics of the device
The power supply system of the diesel (EVE, ERE) regulated by means of electronics conducts the diagnosis independently, and accumulates the found malfunctions in memory of malfunctions. If there comes serious malfunction, then EDS – a signaling device on the dashboard flashes. (EDS – Electronic control of the diesel). In auto repair shop of Mercedes it is possible to interview malfunctions by means of the reading-out device and purposefully to eliminate them. Malfunction not necessarily arises because of bad road performance of the car. Therefore it is expedient to interview the saved-up malfunctions through certain intervals of a run.Contents of memory of malfunctions remain even at shutdown of the rechargeable battery.
