2.5.1.6.1. Antifreeze check

The following test tool is required:

 – test areometer.

Regularly before winter in order to avoid risk it is necessary to check concentration of antifreeze, in particular, if clear water was sometimes added.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the car until there is warm a top hose with cooling liquid going to a radiator.
2. Carefully open a locking cover on a compensation tank.
Prevention

Do not open a locking cover if the engine is in a hot state.
3. Select the measuring areometer cooling liquid and on a float consider its density.

In our latitudes protection of the engine against freezing has to be guaranteed to –30 °C, in case of very frigid climate – to –45 °C.
